Walker County Property Owners

Smart Growth fuels much of the debate on Walker County's Corridor X Parkway Authority. Smart Growth Network (SGN) is a nationwide effort coordinated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Division of Development, Community and Environment. EPA is supporting the Smart Growth Network.

Following is a direct quote from a similar county planning commissioner in Fairfax County, Virginia.

"If it is true that growth will continue on a fixed amount of land, and also true that our traditional dependence on cars and roads for transport is approaching its limits, then the pattern of this continued growth must be changed." -- Providence (Fairfax County, Va.) Planning Commissioner Kenneth A. Lawrence

These are the kind of people that will control home owners property and economic development along Walker County's Corridor X. Most unsuspecting Walker County citizens in favor of the Corridor X Parkway Authority do not realize that the tree huggers also propose to make Corridor X a scenic highway bringing economic growth and home ownership to a screeching halt.

Still other tree huggers mislead Walker County citizens into believing fairy tales of wealth and riches for property owners along Corridor X. Along comes Walker County's legislative delegation and seizes upon the opportunity to take unfair advantage of the day dreaming property owners.

Although the Corridor X Task Force and the Corridor X Parkway Authority are two separate entities, unsuspecting citizens believe they are one and the same, promising the wealth and riches foretold by the Corridor X Task Force.

Sad, but true, our children will be saddled with repressive, governmental bureaucrats for generations upon generations. Home ownership and economic development along Corridor X suffers in the process
